Extended version places the CV joints outboard of the frame horns. Use with shortened axles in Beetles with Quad cam motors to lower the engine and fit under the rear decklid.

The Subaru transmission places the engine 55mm higher in the chassis than a VW transmission. Use of the extended Subaflanges reduces this by 32mm for a difference of 23mm.
